Snowy Ice House Canyon

Our regular hikes in the mountain have sure been an experience for us ex-subtropical dwellers, as the snow this year has been abundant. Shellie always looks so classy! Here she is posed in the latest of winter wear.Jasen is absolutely loving the snow experience, even the long hikes up Ice House Canyon.
Steve getting his stuff ready of a snowballing rolling contest. The goal was to roll the snowballs down a slope into a pond below. There were natural mounds and obstacles in the way. Creative desperation I know, but hey it was fun!
Prestin created the super snow ball. Adding the personal touch with his tongue.Looks are deceiving! Prestin's work of natural art crumbled as it rolled down the slippery slope and didn't even come near the pond.In the end Steve won with five pond arrivers! The scenery was absolutely beautiful. We are loving living just a short drive up the mountain to the snowy adventureland.

After months of sifting, sorting and cataloguing the baseball cards are now ready to sell!

Grandma says farewell to Miki 2

When Steve's dad passed away some five years ago, Miki 2 was there to be her companion. But over this past year he has begun to signal the end of his days. He has enjoyed a nice long life. On 23 January we had to take him in to have him put to sleep. This was a deep moment for Steve's mom, marking the end of a season of life!

Passion '08

In late January Deron had the sweet opportunity to join with some 4000 other worshippers converging in LA to be a part of the Passion 08 conference. Deron went with the gang from Flipside. They all had an amazing time before the Lord being led by worship leaders like Chris Tomlin, David Crowther and Matt Redman. They were challlenged with a call to a life of mission for the Lord. Pictured immediately below is Chris Tomlin. Deron had a great time getting to know the young adults from Flipside. Below he is hanging with Kevin Ibanez, the Young Life Pastor at Flipside!The Passion team will be doing a world tour of some 17 countries, one of which will be Australia (well worth going to if you can make it).

Steve Turns 49

Yes, Steve turned 49 on December 31st

Thankfully we celebrated it early, on the 28th, because Steve's mum went to the hospital the next morning for four days with "congestive heart failure," not good!

We were all able to celebrate together...what a blessing.
